How we got here

jApps grew out of a finance and technology role rather than a computer science degree — from being the person who had to make systems work at month-end, and who kept finding that software built elsewhere assumed a business that did not look like ours.

Rather than complain about it, we started building. SokoVerse came first as a public product; jroll came from the payroll problem we knew best. StoryClever and Moja: Focus followed from problems closer to home — teaching a child, and finishing one thing.

How we work

• Small and deliberate. We would rather ship one thing that holds up than five that need explaining.
• Reviewed, not assumed. Our code is put through adversarial security review, and we fix what it finds before shipping.
• Honest about gaps. If something is not built, we say so. It costs a little pride and saves a great deal of trust.

What we are not

We are not an agency and do not take contract development. We do not resell other companies' software under our name. And we are not large — if you work with us, you are working with the person who wrote the thing, which has obvious advantages and one obvious risk that we would rather discuss openly than pretend away.
