jApps builds and runs its own products. Not an agency, not a reseller — software we design, ship and stand behind, for a market we live in.
What we build
A social commerce platform for Tanzania. Businesses publish their catalogue; buyers discover it and deal with the seller directly.
In pilotPayroll software built by someone who has run payroll — designed around Tanzanian practice rather than adapted from elsewhere.
In developmentDaily lessons for the Cambridge Primary syllabus, taught through a story rather than a worksheet.
On the App StoreAn iPhone app that holds one active task at a time, and refuses to hold two.
Why us
Most software companies learn the business by asking. jApps started from the other end — from years inside finance and technology, watching where systems fail people at month-end and why the imported product never quite fits.
That order matters. It is easier to teach a finance person to ship software carefully than to teach an engineer what a payroll reconciliation costs when it goes wrong.
Data protection
Payroll and marketplace software hold information people cannot afford to have leaked. We build to Tanzania's Personal Data Protection Act, 2022, publish what we collect and why, and have our code reviewed adversarially rather than assuming it is sound.
